Mapping Out the World of Sustainability Targets

With the rise of sustainability targets in companies, a client focused on the production of industrial vehicles approached us with a request to research how other companies incorporate reaching certain sustainability targets in the bonus structures for their senior executives. Our team conducted desk research, exploring global top 20 customers' financial and sustainability reports, CDP submissions, and other supply chain initiatives. We also looked into reports published by CDP, Science Based Targets (SBTi), EcoVadis, consultancy firms, and business schools.

After a thorough analysis of the gathered data, we structured the most important conclusions into a PowerPoint presentation and an advisory report. The presentation was designed to take the clients employees along in the sustainability targets and to give recommendations on the best way to move forward. The focus was on making presentation visual and concise so that it could be used for their board.

Our team explored different organisations that are at the forefront of sustainability measures, differentiated on the divergent sustainability targets, and explained the purpose of these targets. We also recommended different bonus structures that other companies use and suggested how the client could use them within their own organisation.

With our advisory report and presentation, the client was able to gain a better understanding of incorporating sustainability targets in their bonus structures for their senior executives and employees.
